This session will explore two ongoing flood management initiatives in the Lower Fraser River: Living with Water and the Lower Fraser Floodplains Coalition. Both initiatives advocate for a transformative shift toward integrated floodplain management, foregrounding Indigenous perspectives and shared values in adaptation planning. By fostering cross-jurisdictional collaboration across diverse rights- and stakeholders, these initiatives seek to connect upstream and downstream issues while building shared learning and supporting community leadership. The initiatives aim to drive multi-beneficial, community-led efforts in climate adaptation, and the session will showcase ongoing projects and engagements that demonstrate resilience-building in the face of growing climate challenges.
